About us
Our Journey
I’m Maria Jose, the founder of Ancestro 1926 Colombian Coffee. This company is not just a business—it's my personal journey to honor my great-grandfather, Carlos Enrique Rivera. He grew coffee with devotion and care near Timaná, Huila, and his passion has deeply inspired me. Ancestro 1926 was born out of my desire to reconnect with my roots, my family’s traditions, and the hardworking producers of this region.
Coffee has always been more than a drink to me—it’s a connection, a story, and a legacy. Through Ancestro 1926, I aim to share these stories and bring the soul of Colombian coffee to the world, one cup at a time.

The Inspiration Behind Ancestro
A Legacy of Coffee
Carlos Enrique not only produced high-quality coffee but also shared his knowledge with growers.
As representative of the south of Huila of the National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia (FNC), he not only improved the quality of our growers but also shared his knowledge about the coffee production process.
Carlos Enrique Rivera's legacy of community involvement continues to inspire the family's commitment to supporting important projects for the municipality, including the founding of La Gaitana School and the "Carlos Enrique Rivera Orozco" Library and the "Romelia Hernandez" old people's home.
The family takes pride in their heritage and values education, passing down their community leadership from generation to generation.
